Mista Bump
Dec. 2001 - Jan. 2002
|
This is my subwoofer project taken on to provide a little more bass and a lot more
bump to my stereo system. It took a good couple weeks of investigating and visiting many sites across
the interweb to find the right and best parts for the project. Take the time to do the research before
you dive into a project like this. I assure you, it pays off! I chose the following parts and supplies
to build mista bump:
- Adire Audio Tempest - 15" - $140 (Ampman Audio)
- 250 Watt Subwoofer Amplifier w/Remote - $138 (Parts Express)
- ¾" MDF - $15 (Home Depot)
- 1.5" Finishing Nails - $4 box of 100 (Home Depot)
- 2’-1.5" diameter birch dowl - $3 (Home Depot)
- TiteBond II Multipurpose Glue - $3 (Home Depot)
- Liquid Nails - $4 (Home Depot)
- Miscellaneous Nuts and Bolts - $8 (Home Depot)
- Double Sided Tape - $1.50 (Home Depot)
I was able to get a friend to cut the wood for me, which saved me a lot of trouble. We made use
of a band saw and table saw primarily with a fine blade. I made use of a drill, jigsaw, dremel, hammer, many clamps, and
sandpaper for the building steps.
